SMCU choose to seek mediation from the government mediator base on PSS public statement that PSS will not meet with any union.
Mr. Denicion Richardson trying to delay the transfer of staff by requesting information from the union instead of NPNA, If PSS sit with the union and indicate what information he need exact the union could try to get them for PSS.
The union sent information of the staff working NPNA to PSS without PSS requesting the information from the union. Now PSS want to say that the information is not detail enough and is requesting additional information from the union (as pension payment and vacation days of employees and CLA).
Information could be shared with PSS by NPNA but PSS has to sit and start negotiation instead of fighting.
For this reason SMCU choose to seek mediation from the government mediator because SMCU is looking to negotiate to finalize the transfer of staff, and not a fight with PSS and NPNA.
SMCU hope to that the government mediator can solve matter that going on for a year now.
