Man shot In Dutch Quarter

On Tuesday September 20th at approximately 02.00 a.m. police patrols and Detectives were directed to Madrid Drive for a shooting incident. On the scene the investigating officers encountered a man who was bleeding from gunshot wounds to his upper body and a gunshot wound to one of his legs.

He was immediately treated on the scene by paramedics and transported to the Sint Maarten Medical Center for further treatment. According to information gathered at the scene is that the victim known as "Anthony" was shot by an unknown person who came knocking at his door. After committing his act the suspect fled the scene on foot. Who this suspect is and why this violent act was committed is still under investigation by the detective department. At approximately 03.15 a.m. the Central Dispatch received information that the victim had died of the wounds he had sustained. The complete and correct identity of the victim has not yet been established. The Police Department is asking anyone who may have information than could lead to the arrest of the person responsible for this shooting to call the police department and give this information.
