Commissioner responsible for Labour Affairs Louie Laveist, says he supports the Rotary Mid Isle initiative to organize a Career Seminar titled "Job application & Starting Your Business," for all St. Maarten high school students graduating this school year.
The objective of the workshop is to get students thinking about life after high school.
"The initiative is most welcome and I commend the Rotary Mid Isle for planning such a workshop for our nationĂ¢??s school-going youth. One has to look at what their long-term plans will be especially when you are in the last grade.
"Various options exist, such as joining the job market, or continuing with your studies. The workshop will assist those who need direction and guidance," Commissioner of Labour Affairs Louie Laveist told the Government Information Service (GIS).
The workshop/seminar will be conducted by Paul Riviere at the Philipsburg Cultural and Community Centre on October 16 and 17 from 9.00am to 12.00pm. The seminar is offered free of charge and includes snacks and drinks.
