On September 16 Commissioner Sarah Wescot-Williams had discussions with the Supervisory Committee for Education based on "the Program Education and Youth ‘ ..Present at the meeting were the President of the supervisory committee, ir. Gilbert Wawoe, representatives of BZKA,VNA a representative of the Ministry of Education in Holland and for Sint Maarten Mrs. Patricia Lourens, Mr. Quincy Harrigan and Angela Dekker.
During the day the committee had meetings and visited the Seventh Day Adventist school.
Topics of discussion were an assessment on the situation in education to be executed by a consultancy firm.
Also was discussed the progress Sint Maarten is making with the introduction of Foundation Based Education, with the innovations in VSBO and the recently started SBO courses in the maritime, administrative and care sectors.
