The Sint Maarten Library, the University of St. Martin, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry cordially invite the general public to come out and visit the fair. The fair is scheduled for Friday, August 26, 2022, at the University of St. Martin from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Entrance is free.
The third formers of all high schools have been invited. To accommodate the schools, the fair has been divided into three almost identical programs; the first time slot from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., the second time slot from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and the last time slot from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Although the event primarily focuses on youth entrepreneurship, the program is also interesting for everybody who is an entrepreneur or wants to start an enterprise, or just thinking about a plan B.
The fair presents a variety of activities in the different areas of the University of St. Martin. Young entrepreneurs are invited to present and sell their products and services. There are still some spots left over for young entrepreneurs who want to participate. They should contact the library at phone number 1 721 542 2970 or visit the Sint Maarten Library. Be sure that you are set up before 8:30 a.m.
The Sint Maarten Library will present its new, special book collection about (youth) entrepreneurship, and information sessions will be held by:
Mingo Civil Law Notary Office
Windward Islands Bank
Qredits
Alexander Stewart
Bureau Intellectual Property
Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Some of the listed organizations will also have booths with staff members available to answer questions and share their information. Furthermore, there will be a dedicated entrepreneur board game room and during the day three raffles with prices related to the event.
The fair is one of the results of a reading drive program that the Sint Maarten Library executes. The (Dutch) Royal Library financed the program. With the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the program was extended into a youth entrepreneurship program. Later this year, the program will also result in a book about the subject.
Many people consider entrepreneurship an exciting and challenging alternative to a job. However, they often know little about how to set up an enterprise. The youth entrepreneurship program aims to bring awareness and factual information and to share experiences. Let’s not forget that because of their great ideas and hard work, we can all enjoy the products and services of entrepreneurs. They help carry the economy.
