WILLEMSTAD – According to reliable sources, the new interim director of the government-owned company Refineria di Korsou (RdK) will be Patrick Newton. He would take over from Marcelino de Lannoy. Newton will be trained in the coming days and the files will be transferred. He is no stranger to the RdK. Newton was part of a project management team looking for a new operator of the Isla refinery. In 1979 he was an Information Technology Engineer at Shell and in 1985 Newton went to Isla. He was employed there for three years. The challenge for the RdK remains to find a new operator who has crude oil and sufficient working and investment capital and who complies with the imposed emission and environmental standards.
