I would like to take this opportunity to thank Coast Guard Sub Station Chief Edison Kiringdongo and Brigadier General Swijgman, for their outstanding work that the Coast Guard is doing in defending and securing our water way borders.
Special gratitude goes out to the men and women in the Coast Guard who work tirelessly day and night with much pride and respect for their profession and the institution they represent.
I concur with many that we don’t see their sacrifices or success made on a daily basis. I commend them highly and wish the Coast Guard much success with their new boat which I was honoured to unveil the new name of the boat and ‘christen’ it with champagne: the "White Arrow", as they keep our waters and our people safe.
(The christening took place at the Coast Guard’s annual New Year’s reception at the substation in Simpson Bay.)
God Bless them and keep them safe.
