Environmental Protection in the Caribbean (EPIC) St. Maarten will host its second annual fundraising kayak tour of the Simpson Bay Lagoon on Sunday February 3rd . Participants will be able see and learn firsthand about the various habitats and wildlife found in the Lagoon. This excursion will provide participants with the opportunity to better understand and appreciate this very special place right in our backyard.
Participants will meet at 8:00 a.m. at Kim Sha beach in Simpson Bay, near Greenhouse restaurant, and visit seagrass beds and mangrove stands in the Lagoon before returning around 10:00 a.m. Experienced kayakers will be on hand to assist beginners and life vests are provided. Children over nine years old are welcome.
With sponsorship from Tri-Sport, EPIC is able to offer the kayak tour for just US $10 per person, allowing participants an affordable opportunity to see the Lagoon from an entirely new perspective.
