President of Parliament Hon. Drs. Rodolphe Samuel during his working visit to the Netherlands recently, met with Minister Plenipotentiary Hon. Mathias Voges, Deputy Minister Plenipotentiary Henrietta Doran-York, and the cabinet staff.
The meeting with Voges and Doran-York dealt with a number of issues such as the current location of the Sint Maarten House, which is in a rented building, and looking at the owning their own property; and about the student support organization S4 also relocating to the Bezuidenhoutseweg #93B address where the office of Sint Maarten representation is located in The Hague.
The possibility of having a travel agency also set up at the same location was briefly explored; and the continued reference in the Netherlands of Antilleans, when the Netherlands Antilles ceases to exists, was also briefly discussed.
President Samuel met with representatives from the Association of Dutch Municipalities (VNG) where a number of matters were discussed such as training workshops for the President of Parliament, Secretary General, and an assessment of the parliamentary secretariat.
Samuel said the first two priorities would be the assessment and the training for President of Parliament.
