U.S. Consulate General Donates New Flag to Battle-Station Blaauw World War II Monument

The U.S. Consulate General in Curacao paid respects to the men and women who protected Curacao during World War II by donating a new American flag to the Battle-Station Blaauw, Force Curacao 1942 Foundation. Part of the complex at Blue Bay is maintained by the foundation, and there are plans to convert it into a museum.

The delivery of the flag occurred during a small ceremony when U.S. Vice Consul Morgan Miles handed the new flag to Battle-Station Blaauw, Force Curacao 1942 Foundation president, Allan Van Ree. In his remarks, the Vice Consul highlighted the historical ties of friendship and partnership that join the armed forces of the United States and the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and the areas of continuing cooperation between the countries in the sectors of security and defense.
