On Sunday May 6th, at approximately a quarter after midnight a Philipsburg police patrol was directed to the parking-lot between the Seaman"s Club and El Capitan in Sucker garden to investigate a possible shooting.
On the scene the patrol encountered the victim with the initials M.R. born on the island of St. Lucia, who was bleeding from a wound to his left thigh. The victim stated that while walking through the parking-lot from Seaman’s Club to El Capitan, he was unexpectedly attacked by an unknown man dressed in black with a "hoody" over his head. The suspect pulled a gun, threatened to use it and demanded that the victim hand over all his money. At the same time the victim was about to hand over his money, he was struck several times in his face with the gun by the suspect. Directly after hitting the victim, the suspect shot the victim in het left thigh. The suspect then fled the scene after committing this act without stealing any money from the victim. The victim was treated by paramedics on the scene. The Detectives of the Special Robbery Unit and the Forensic Department collected evidence on the scene to continue with this investigation.
