On March 23rd 2012 the Representative of the central government Wilbert Stolte appointed mr. Peter Silberie as acting island governor of Bonaire.
Mr. Silberie was appointed for the period of March 24th 2012 till April 1st 2013.
Bases upon the "Wet Openbare Lichamen Bonaire, Sint-Eustatius en Saba" (WolBES), the Representative of the central government is able to deputize for the island governor.
On request of the executive council of the public entity of Bonaire, the Representative of the central government extended the appointment of
mr. Silberie by one year.
