TelEm Group mobile provider TelCell and concert promoter Riddim Box will be kicking off the St. Maarten Carnival’s International segment on April 26 with two top reggae acts – Chris Martin and Popcaan – Headlining this grand concert will be Trinidad and Tobago’s 2011 Soca Monarch Kes the Band.
To make sure that the event will be a night to remember, TelCell and Riddim Box will be using a blaze of red in their upcoming promotions in keeping with the "1 Red Nation" theme for the night.
"By the time our first artist comes on stage you will know that something special is happening in Carnival 2012," said show promoter and President of the Riddim Box group, Randy Piper.
Randy and Riddim Box Public Relations Officer, Regine Warner, said the acts have now been finalized and now island-wide promotions will begin with the help of TelEm Group.
"We will be going on a social media campaign with information about the artists and about all that will be happening on the night. In addition to radio promotions we will also be doing daily SMS quizzes for chances to win tickets to the event " said Riddim Box.
TelEm Group Manager, Marketing & Sales Mrs. Carmen Lake-Reyes says tickets sold for the event will be actual prepaid phone cards with 1 hr FREE TC-TC Talk Time to encourage advanced ticket sales.
The "1 Red Nation" theme was chosen for the International concert as part of the TelEm Groups rebranding initiative, focusing on the color red and the company’s ongoing efforts to make mobile services affordable to its diverse customer base.
St. Maarten Carnival Development Foundation (SCDF) president, Stuart Johnson and SCDF Secretary Michael Granger both congratulated TelEm Group and Riddim Box for setting the stage for a great International show during this year’s carnival festivities.
"We are especially pleased that TelEm Group is supporting a local promoter with his event and that the local promoter has stepped in at such a late stage to set up this very creative "I Red Nation" international event," said Mr. Johnson.
He explained that Riddim Box stepped in to fill in the Thursday, April 26th slot for the opening international night after plans for the night were dropped suddenly.
"We are confident that the well-known reggae acts and 17-member Soca band will attract a huge crowd in the Festival Village and we will certainly do all we can to help promote and market the event and make it a success," continued the SCDF president.
