On Monday, October 24th at approximately 11.30 a.m. several police patrols and detectives were directed to Jewel’s for Ever" located in Front street for an armed robbery. The information that came in to the central Police Dispatch was that two masked and armed men had stormed into the established and while threatening the personnel with their fire-arms robbed the business of an amount of jewelry. After committing the act, the suspects fled the scene in a small white vehicle with a French license plate driven by another man. During the investigation this white car with the driver was located in the Philipsburg area. During a search of the suspect some of the stolen jewelry were found and confiscated. The suspect with initials D.D.W. from Sint Maarten was arrested on the spot. The car in question was also confiscated for further investigation. The other two suspects succeeded in avoiding their capture. The investigation is ongoing by detectives and forensic department.
