Minister Donner visits the Dutch Caribbean

The Minister of Home Affairs and Kingdom Relations, (BZK), Piet Hein Donner, will pay a working visit to Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba from September 26th until September 29th 2011. The member of cabinet is responsible for the coordination of the policy of the Central Government on the three islands. Now, practically a year after 10-10-10, Donner will personally take a look at how the transition of Bonaire St. Eustatius and Saba to the Netherlands is progressing.

The working visit starts on September 26th and 27th on Saba. Donner will speak with among others the Executive Council and the Island Council about current matters, such as health care. Furthermore, on the programme is also an administrative consultation regarding the financial relations between the Kingdom and Saba.

Furthermore, Donner will visit the Under the Hill (social housing) project and the harbour in Fort Bay. The expansion of the harbour was recently completed.

On September 27th the Minister will travel to St. Eustatius. There Donner will speak with among others the Executive Council and the Island Council. Here also, a meeting will take place concerning the financial relations.

The following day September 28th the Minister will travel to Bonaire. Also on this island Donner talk with the Executive Council about the current state of affairs with regards to the transition to the Netherlands. The financial relations are also on the programme.

On September 29th in the morning the Minister will depart for Curacao and later in the afternoon to The Netherlands.This will mark the third visit of Minister Donner to the Dutch Caribbean this year.
