On 15 September 2011, 12 volunteers from the 429th Expeditionary Operations Squadron located at the U.S. Forward Operating Location (USFOL) visited SILOAM Village.
Volunteers assisted SILOAM staff with the removal of critical supplies stored in two large shipping containers. Volunteers also delivered eight boxes of donations filled with blankets and infant clothing. SILOAM administrators expressed their utmost appreciation. "You have done today in a few hours what it would take our staff several months." said Brother Herman Gijsbers, SILOAM owner/operator. One USFOL volunteer observed, "It was a small effort with huge, life-changing results. I was honored to help make a difference."
