In spite of the thieves robbing and leaving Imbali Dance school incapacitated, Imbali dance school we still manage to dance on, today Wednesday morning some 25 students from Imbali Center for Creative Movement showed up to a dance work shop with world renowned master teacher MALATHI IYENGAR.
The Imbali dance students will undergo 4 days of intense dance training in the traditions of Bharatanatyam… MALATHI IYENGAR flew into the island last night from Los Angeles.
MALATHI IYENGAR is the guest of teacher Aparna Samaga, who brought the traditions of classical Indian dance to St.Maarten 4 years ago.
While here on vacation, MALATHI IYENGAR has generously consented to offer the workshop to the Imbali dance students
The workshop is able to function due to the generous contributions of friends and student of Imbali who have raided their own music supply closet by bringing bits and pieces together of their own music components CD player, amplifiers and speakers to create a functioning sound system so the dance can continue.
Much thanks goes out to Maribel Postiena and Damien Cornelius who have managed to borrow some additional sound equipment from professional musician Morgan John Jule so Imbali can continue to dance.
Currently team Imbali is in the process of oragnaizing a fundraiser to purchase all the dance/music equipment stolen.
