1st Ever International Justice Week

The first ever International Justice Week aimed to provide the public with valuable information on the services that are provided by the entire Ministry of Justice.

Representatives from the Immigration and Naturalization Services (INS) , Police Corps, Prison and the Public Prosecutor’s Office were hosted on various radio talk shows to enlighten citizens about the goals, current and future services of their respective departments.

TV interviews also took place at the Immigration and Naturalization Services on A.Th Illidge road with Implementation Manager Carmelita Smits-Rombley and Policy Officer Judy La Paix, at the Police Station in Philipsburg with Head of Detectives Denise Jacobs and at the Prison and House of Detention in Pointe Blanche with Head Supervisor Wilfred Williams. Video footage was taken of the each’ work environment and workers for a rare inside look into the daily operations as well as the long term vision and goals of the INS, Police Corps and Prison.

These TV interviews are available in parts with the first of the series airing Monday 18th July, 2011 on St. Maarten Cable TV channel 15 at 7:00p.m. with the intention that the public will learn more about the largest ministry in government; the Ministry of Justice.
