The Dow’s Musical Foundation under the direction of The International Reggae And world Music awards Hall of Fame inductee, and Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, Isidore Mighty Dow York, would like to hereby let you know that they will be hosting a steel pan music summer work shop from July 4, to July 22,2011 at the Oranje School on Fronstreet Philipsburg.
The Workshop will be from 8.00 am until 1.30 pm Monday through Friday. Ages 5 and over are welcome to register. Classes will be given in playing techniques, musical theory and the making of the steel Pans.
Three steel pan tutors from the island of Trinidad will come to St. Maarten to assist Dow’s Musical Foundation.
The objective here is to preserve the art form of steel pan.
