Cft with view on 2011
During the New Year’s brunch of the Board of financial supervision (College financieel Toezicht – Cft) on January 11th Secretary Geert Bergsma presented the Board’s view on 2011, which according to him stands for consolidation of changes that stared out in 2010, and continuity of the Board’s endeavors. The latter particularly based on cooperation of all involved, in order to reach the mutual objectives.
The changes that initiated in 2010, were mostly the state reform and the new Cft structure; now there is one Cft for the public entities Bonaire, Saba and Sint Eustatius and one Cft for the countries Curaçao and Sint Maarten, that together share one secretariat.
Bergsma: "In 2010 there was progress in the area of budgets and financial management. Not always there was strong decision making, which was the reason why things took more time than could be expected. There is a lot of work to be done and the entities face the obvious starting problems. But I see that all parties share a healthy ambition to reach success, and in that Cft has a remarkable role to play."
