The meeting during working hours started at ten o’clock. According to Maria, this meeting was convened because there’s dissatisfaction with the attitude of the Taams Clinic regarding consultation with the trade union.
"We stomped out of a meeting four months ago. Since then, we made frantic efforts to consult with the management. We forward requests with agenda items, but receive no response, not even if the meeting could take place. We once showed up at Taams but to no avail. According to Taams, the secretary was on holidays and because nobody had opened our letter, they didn’t know about it." Maria indicates she had tried to meet with the Taams Clinic several times, but that all of these attempts were to no avail.
Disrespect
According to the CBV-chairperson, the trade union received numerous complaints from the personnel on Taams’ personnel policy. "There are complaints about the lack of respect; agreements that are not kept and agreements that change from one day to the other. As we wanted to know what else is important to the personnel, we went to Taams to hear the personnel’s complaints."
Letter from the lawyer
During the meeting, the Taams’ management had their lawyer deliver a letter to the CBV in which the trade union was asked to leave the terrain of the clinic because their presence was disturbing the patient care. However, CBV didn’t take the slightest notice of this letter and continued the meeting. According to Maria, the letter proves the poor communication at the Taams Clinic. The meeting lasted two hours this morning and according to CBV, the clinic was running on minimum labor force.
