Robbers get away after break-in

Friday afternoon at approximately 12.15 p.m. the central Police Dispatch received a call from a resident of the Guana Bay area informing them of that two unknown men were busy breaking into the house of the neighbor who not at home at the time. The resident in question with initials M.D. also stated that when the suspects realised that they were caught in the act, they tried to flee the area in a small white car.

M.D. then used his jeep to block the suspects in their path as they attempt to flee the area. The suspects realising they could not go any further jumped out of the car they were driving and attacked M.D., pulling him out of his jeep and seriously illtreating him. The suspects then jumped into jeep of the victim and fled the scene leaving him at the scene. Shortly after the suspects lost control of the jeep on the Guana Bay road and struck a light pole causing extensive sdamage to the jeep which could not drive any further. The suspects the abandoned the jeep and fled into the nearby Guana Bay hills. Several police patrols and detecives were sent to the area in search of the suspects however without any positive results. The victim M.D was treated on the scene by paramedics and then take to the Sint Maarten Medical Center for further treatment. The vehicle which the suspects used was confiscated for further investigation. The investigation is ongoing.
