SEI: Twelve million guilders at risk

Curacao in the Netherlands wants more time to apply for funding under the Social Economic Initiative (SEI). As things stand, is the new country Curacao possible twelve million guilders wrong because no project proposals in a sufficiently advanced stage in the pipeline.

The representative of the Netherlands, Rob Vermaas admonished all Budget Curacao on pace to do with the filing of SEI and develop project proposals.

At the SEI, it totaled about 90 million guilders. The former West Indies have one third of them inlaid Netherlands and the rest. Of the Netherlands booked 60 million guilders is 48 million guilders to projects. Twelve million guilders has no purpose and threatens Curacao so lost.

Allocation of funds to an SEI project will only take place if a financing agreement was signed and implementation commitments. Reserved SEI funds lapse if project proposals before 31 December 2010 do not comply.

If the Netherlands Curaçao request, funds remain after the New Year still available. Projects should then be continued on schedule. The government also promises to Schotte "in a discreet and efficient manner will work" to the funds do not miss out.

Where necessary, Curacao and Sint Maarten coordinate their efforts, each country has its own SEI administers funds.
