Suspects escapes and re-arrested!

On Monday October 11th at approximately 03.15 p.m. several police patrols were directed in the direction of the Princess Juliana International Airport to assist a Custom officer in recapturing a suspect who fled the airport after being arrested for the possession of drugs.

On the scene the officers spoke to the Custom-officer in question who informed them, that while reading the suspects his rights, he the suspect saw the opportunity to flee and ran in the direction of the Turtle Pier restaurant where he would be still hiding. The Custom officer further stated that he fired warning shots in the attempt to stop the suspect from fleeing.

After an intense search in the area the suspect with initials W.M.T.

from Jamaica was located hiding in a small room next to the swimming pool of a home in the immediate vicinity. He was rearrested and put into custody pending further investigation by the Custom Department.
