Personnel from the TelEm Group Outside Plant are busy assessing the extent of damage to a TelEm Group underground cable in the Lowlands area earlier this morning.
According to the Outside Plant personnel, construction workers using heavy equipment in Lowlands, accidentally cut a main telecommunication cable belonging to TelEm Group.
The cable provides landline and internet service to residential and commercial properties in Lowlands.
Manager, Outside Plant, Mr. Anthony Carty said more than 200 customers in total are experiencing interruption in service as a result of the damaged cable.
Technicians have started work in repairing the damaged cable and restoring all disconnected lines.
