David van Heyningen of St. Martin came in relief in 7th inning.
In an all most full capacity AVG stadium at Sokolova, Brno, Czech Republic and even though he appeared very nervous it was more than a pleasure to see young David van Heyningen of St. Martin take the mount in defense of the French Selection team and dominated the terrible Czech batters in front of their home town fans.
Just when France tied the game in the ninth where Jean Samer got hit by pitch it was sad to see how France lost their first game of the U 21 European Championship. Three St. Martin players on recommendation of the St. Martin Pony League are forming part of the selection team of France that are now contesting the European Championship in Brno, Czech Republic accompanying the players is Mr. Gabriel Brown. Mr. Brown will also be contacting the Czech Pony League representative whom is interested in playing some baseball games on St. Martin and the Eastern Caribbean.
