The selection team of players from French St. Martin that traveled to Rouen France to take part in the Rouen Baseball Open left a good impression of the quality of baseball on St. Martin when they brought together young baseball players of at the Stade of Saint Exupery of Rouen.
The good performances of the St. Martin Team let the French Federation ( FFBS ) with no other choice then to select many St. Martin players for the French Baseball selection. St. Martin team started the tournament by facing the national selection. They lost 6-4 after being behind with a score of 5-1. Lenrick Pinto blasted two homeruns over the fences while Felix Brown came out of the game with a bouble and a single and scored a run for the team. Omar Williams also batted a single and scored a run for the team. Luis de la Rosa was on the mount for the St. Martin team. The team played under the direction of Morvin Beauphertuy while Gabriel Brown is leader of the delegation. The games were organized by the combination of the FFBS, the St. Martin Pony League and the French St. Martin Baseball and Softball Association. The games were Sponsored by the Collectivite of St. Martin and the FFBS. For The St. Martin team it could be described as a great reunion of "friends meeting friends over the Atlantic ".
