Highlights of the Minister of Justice during her working visit in St.Maarten

On Tuesday June 8 the Minister Jacoba met with advisors on the conclusion of the Brooks Tower Accord (BTA).

The BTA gave undocumented people living on St. Maarten and the other islands of the Netherlands Antilles an opportunity to regulate their status.

Jacoba signed off on the last BTA decrees Sunday June 06, these will be distributed during the week. 

 

Justice Minister Magaly Jacoba has a busy week on St. Maarten. She met recently with sworn in acting Lt. Governor and local Chief of Police Reynold Groeneveldt on Monday June 07. from L-R State Secretary for Justice Ernie Simmons, Minister of personal Affair Roland Duncan, Act Lt Governor of St Maarten Reynold Groeneveld, Minister of Justice Magaly Jacoba and leader of Government Commissioner William Marlin.


The Minister of Justice Magali Jacoba Had a Meeting on Monday with the Dutch technical assistants for the police. Who will be guiding the KPSSS into a new structure. Left center you can see the Minister of Justice busy talking to the Dutch Technical Assistance and the representative of the different Police Union.

 


On Monday afternoon Minister of Justice Magali Jacoba met with unions representing the police. In this meeting the Unions brought different point of concern to the Minister about there members. The meeting was very successful for both parties in reaching on agreements for the future of the civil servant.

Minister of Justice Magali Jacoba kept a meeting on Monday June 07, with advisors and different organizations within the community about the consequences of a recent court ruling that recognizes the American-Dutch Friendship Agreement. This agreement gives US citizens the same rights as Dutch citizens in the islands.
