TUESDAY, JAN. 19: The U.S. Geological Survey reports that a 5.8-magnitude earthquake has struck southeast of the Cayman Islands today.
CNN spoke to a person in Grand Cayman who said there were no initial reports of injuries.
A photographer told the Reuters news agency that the earthquake shook his apartment for about 10 seconds.
An earthquake rocked Guatemala and parts of El Salvador Monday, but no there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage in either country. The earthquake hit about 60 miles southwest of Guatemala City. There were reports of shaking in Guatemala City, in the Guatemalan countryside and in El Salvador as well.
