The 120th anniversary theme is "Keeping the light of Jesus burning". The 120th anniversary activities during school year 2009 -2010 have been put together by our dynamic PTA.

Our PTA members are :

Nov.1st 2009- Awareness campaign during the WIB Extravaganza at Port de Plaisance.

We had a booth selling drinks, walk-a thon tickets and our 120th

Anniversary T-Shirt.

Former students were asked to come and sign up.

 

 

Nov.2nd 2009- Press conference at St. Joseph School. Former students were Invited to attend this press conference to encourage other former students to get involve with the 120th ann. Activities.

Starting with our reunion walk-a-thon on Sat.Nov.7th,’09

 

Nov.7th 09- Fundraising Reunion walk-a-thon. Starting and ending at

St. Joseph School. Time: 5:00 a.m.-8:00 a.m.

Breakfast and a commemorative 120th anniversary

T-Shirt. Tickets on sale for US $ 10,-

 

February ’10- Fundraising concert with our school choir excising of 75 members

Under the dynamic leadership of Teacher Betty Ellis, our Student

Care coordinator

 

 

May 2010 –Fundraising Gala Dinner for Former Students. Date and venue has not

yet been confirmed. .Preparations are ongoing.

On this evening we will be launching our 120th anniversary commemorative

booklet.

 

 

June 2010- 120th anniversary thanksgiving Mass at St. Martin of Tours at 8.00 am.

-Parade on Front street and Back Street

-Blessing of our new documentation Center and office space in our new

building on Backstreet.

Grand 120th anniversary celebration in school.

2.Former students are asked to sign up and if they have school pictures to bring them to the school.(Pictures before 1988)

With the owners permission, we would like to scan these pictures for our archives and maybe include some of them in our commemorative 120th anniversary booklet.

 

3. Request former students to come to school to talk to our students concerning their days at St. Joseph School and how it used to be in those days.

 

4.Ask former students to support our fundraising activities.

This is an opportunity for them to give back to the school so that other children can also enjoy a good education

 

Purpose of our fundraising: To purchase new furniture for groups 3-8
