There is further consultation with Bonaire, and the signing is expected to take place during the coming weeks. Bonaire has announced that it needs more time, and they’ve been given this time, Minister Omayra Leeflang stated after the signing.
The tasks, which the Netherlands have taken upon themselves, resorted under the Ministry of Public Health of the Netherlands Antilles. These are now in the portfolio of the Dutch Ministry of Public Health, Welfare, and Sport (VWS), and the Program Ministry of Youth and Family.
The relevant tasks will be implemented immediately by the Netherlands, but resort under the responsibility of the Land the Netherlands Antilles until the transition date (which still has to be determined).

As Ministers Ab Klink and André Rouvoet had already signed the protocol earlier this week in the Netherlands, they were represented by the BES-delegate Nico Oudendijk at the signing in Willemstad.
Patricia Grolle, substitute Representative of the Netherlands in the Netherlands Antilles, Cor de Graaff and Sherlyne Eisden, policy co-workers of Leeflang were also present at the signing yesterday.
