As of immediately, SMMC is accepting the FZOG-SVB cards as guarantee of payment for services rendered.
After negotiations that took over a month, the SMMC and FZOG-SVB have reached an agreement concerning payment of outstanding charges, including services provided by SMMC that were disputed by FZOG-SVB, as well as a time frame for future monthly billing.
The FZOG-SVB has agreed to pay the outstanding including May 2009 invoices of over 297 thousand guilders before the end of August. Furthermore, FZOG-SVB agreed to pay SMMC’s monthly billing within 45 days after receiving the electronic monthly billing during 2009. As of 2010 this will be reduced to 30 days, just as it is agreed with other guarantors that are accepted by SMMC.
SMMC is optimistic that for once and for all, the acceptance of the FZOG-SVB cards will be a non issue in the future. As a healthcare provider our core business is providing quality hospital-care, in a safe and healthy environment, that will satisfy our patients and our staff. To be able to achieve this and guarantee the continuity of hospital care, it is important that health care insurances or guarantors as well as uninsured patients stick to their obligations to pay the SMMC within a reasonable time frame for services that they received.
We would like to express our appreciation to all the FZOG-card holders who, in spite of being confronted with this condition for over 1 month, showed their support and understanding for the Medical Center’s position in trying to maintain a high standard of health care for all
