TelEm Group change manager, Pieter Drenth, is scheduled to meet with Government leader Mr. William Marlin, to apprise him and other members of the Executive Council of the present status of the TelEm Group and restructuring plans there.
The meeting was scheduled three weeks ago and follows a request from Mr. Marlin to the Shareholder representative for a business update on the TelEm Group and Smticoms N.V.
According to Mr. Drenth he will specifically address the matter of restructuring, proposed partnering and the present business status in the August 13th presentation.
"The report to the Executive Council will be thorough, realistic and honest in its appraisal of where we were, where we are now and the options that are open for the company going forward," stated the CEO.
"The dynamics of the telecommunications sector globally and locally is that it is fast changing and unless we change with it we will be left dead in the water from outside competition," continued Mr. Drenth.
Mr. Drenth has further stated that the meeting with EXCO is important to ensure that members of government get the full picture and not what is being fed to them by some outside factions.
He warns against those who are doing their best to whip up emotional sentiment without providing all the facts necessary to make a fair and unbiased opinion.
