Preparations for the celebration of Curacao Flag day on Saba 2009 is presently being worked out.
President of the Foundation Mr. Hensley Martis told SNA on Wednesday that his committee has already held two meetings and they are now setting up their foundation and is hoping to have it completed within the next week.
The foundation will be carrying the name "Korsow Krioyo Fundashon". The members of the board will be Mr. Hensley Martis as president, Mr. Willis Lucas as Vice President, Mr. Siegfried Maria as secretary, Mr. Winston Victoria as treasurer and Mr. Richard Maria as board member and Public Relations Officer.
The board of the newly established foundation has decided that the celebration on Saba will be held on Saturday, July 4th 2009 starting at the Juancho Yrausquin Airport to the Princess Juliana Sports field at starting with a motorcade from the airport at 10.00 a.m. and the party will go on until late in the evening hours.
Mr. Martis said that already he has made contact with his associates on Curacao and already he can announce that they will be bringing in a small band and a folkloric dance group from Curacao.
This year again this event will be for the entire Saban population to enjoy some of the tasty dishes from the island of Curacao we want to celebrate our flag day amongst the community of Saba. Last year it was a smashing success and we look forward this year once again to even put on a much better and larger event for the community.
Preparations are also being worked out to host a Family day leading up to the celebration of Curacao flag day in which the foundation will be focusing on the children and also the women on the island. They are calling on all persons born on the island of Curacao to come forward and assist wherever possible and they have also called on all persons that has worked or went to school on the island of Curacao to render their support and cooperation as they try to put things in place for this celebration.
