The St. Maarten Carnival Development Foundation (SCDF) is calling on all youth wanting to participate in the upcoming Youth Extravaganza Show to a meeting this evening (Thursday, February 26th 2009). The meeting will take place at the Government Administration Building at 7:00pm whereby all participants will have the opportunity to make sure they’ve registered. "I am calling on all young people who are willing to perform during this show to attend this important meeting especially since no other registrations will be accepted after this meeting," Stuart Johnson Vice President of SCDF said.
Johnson and Vida Boyrard will be the two main coordinators of the show along with other members who form part of the committee responsible for the show. It is the intention of the coordinators to ensure the youth of St. Maarten have the opportunity to showcase their talent without any international act during the show. "The show is about our young people taking center stage showcasing their talent and the best St. Maarten has to offer," Johnson remarked.
