Friday April 3rd 2009 Insel Air will operate her first flight from St. Maarten to San Juan, Puerto Rico. A welcome addition to the destination mix offered by Insel Air, servicing the northern Caribbean region with 2 flights weekly from St. Maarten to Puerto Rico.
The new destination will be offered at a special introduction price of US$ 180 (excl fuel and government taxes). The flights will be operated on Mondays and Fridays, departing from St. Maarten at 12:50, arrival 13:40. Departure time from San Juan is 15:10, arrival St. Maarten at 16:00. With the new route to the destination mix of Insel Air, the St. Maarten airport has now become a major partner and hub for the airline, offering over 600 seats daily to/from St. Maarten.
San Juan is a much anticipated addition to the destination mix of Insel Air, popular for fantastic shopping, salsa music, viejo San Juan beauty and cruise tourism. On the other hand, passengers travelling from Puerto Rico to St. Maarten, for her popularity as a travel destination, will boost island economy due to this new Insel Air route. Insel Air connects South America and the Leeward islands to St. Maarten and the northern Caribbean. For example travelers from Valencia now fly seamlessly to St. Maarten and San Juan.
