On Saturday November 15, 2008, the St. Maarten Youth Council Association held its 9th annual International Students Day Academic Achievement Awards at the Philipsburg Community & Cultural Center. Sixty six students from the Milton Peters College (all sections), St. Dominic High School, St. Maarten Academy, Sundial Secondary, Learning Unlimited, St. Maarten Vocational Training and the Caribbean International Academy were honoured.
Thirteen students were honoured with the Stellar Performance Award for Continued Academic Performance: Carla Vlaun – Learning Unlimited; Zainab Abdul-Karim – St. Maarten Academy; Kyara Johanna Milton Peters College; Fernando van de Kraats; – Sundial; Vijay Dayalani – St. Dominic; Avon Lee – Learning Unlimited; Kim Verschueren – Milton Peters College; Roxanne Constanzo – Learning Unlimited; Nichelle van der Mark – Milton Peters College; Jonathan Etnel – Milton Peters College; Stephanie Yuan-Sam – St. Dominic; Tyra van Putten – Milton Peters College; Gishelle Henry – Milton Peters College.
