An information session is in the planning stage by the Secondary Vocational Education (SBO/SVE) Service Center for all possible providers of SBO, government departments, and representatives of the business community, employer and employee organizations.
Those in attendance will be informed about the actual situation and the vision for SBO and plans for the future.
An SBO Service Center has been established by the Island Government to coordinate and support the accreditation process and organization of SBO courses. At the moment 10 courses are awaiting approval by the Antillean Minister of Education.
Five courses are currently underway executed by SMITH, SVOBE-Milton Peters College and SIFMA. In 2009, an SBO School Complex is to be constructed in the vicinity of the Raoul Illidge Sports Complex in Cay Hill.
The information session is planned for Thursday, October 2 at the Sonesta Great Bay Hotel Conference Room from 3.45pm to 5.30pm.
SBO/SVE education is very important in improving and further developing the skills of the nationĂ¢??s workforce.
