A man was arrested on Friday morning, after he was caught red-handed attempting to leave the scene of a crime with a wallet and a lap top. A 44-year-old Venezuelan crew member of the yacht Destiny III, anchored in the Simpsonbay Lagoon, was awaken by the sound of a noise on Friday morning at around 6.30 a.m. and discovered the well-known E.R. on the yacht when he was attempting to leave the yacht with the above mentioned items in his hands. The crew-member struggled with the robber and after relieving E.R. of the items, police was called and arrested E.R. He is now encarcerated pending further investigations.
A 45-year-old- man reported the theft on saturday of several items. He told detectives that friday morning robbers went aboard his boat called "Lord Sheffield" anchored in Greatbay between Great Bay Hotel and Sea Palace hotel and relieved him of among others A guitar, a black kenwood car radio, 30 diving glasses and snorkels, 15 sets of swimming vins, 6 cases of beers and other alcoholic beverages and numerous tools. This case has the attention of the traffic department.
On saturday evening at around 10:00 p.m. a case of robbery was reported. A unknown man dressed in black and brandishing a black hand gun robbed 3 young men of their belongings while they were walking on the road. They were held-up at the corner of D.C. Steeg and Backstreet. The armed bandit relieved them of a Sony Ericsson mobile cellular phone , a digital Canon camera and $ 30,- in cash. After the robbery the bandit walked away in the direction of Zoutsteeg and then took the direc tion of Over The Bank.
On saturday, at approx. 11.15 p.m., Sun Flower Bar & Restaurant was held up at gunpoint by a man of dark complexion wearing dark sunshades. Under threat of a small hand gun the employee were demanded to hand over the money which was about $ 200,-. During the hold-up the gun fell on the ground and it sounded like the sound of plastic. I seemed like a play toy gun but however no changes were taken. The money was handed over to the bandit and quickly left the restaurant.
