Commissioner Wescot-Williams commends community and law enforcement on apprehension of fugitive from justice
Leader of Government Commissioner Sarah Wescot-Williams, would like to commend law enforcement officials for an incident free apprehension of US fugitive FBI most wanted M.J. Registe who was caught on Wednesday in an operation that was carried out in a professional manner which demonstrates how well trained our specialized police forces (A-Team) are.
Commissioner Wescot-Williams would also like to commend the vigilance of members of the community who called in to the Police supplying them with the information of where this person was located.
One of the most important fields of activity of the global law enforcement community today is the apprehension of wanted persons.
Fugitives pose a serious threat to public safety worldwide. Fugitives also undermine the worldâ??s criminal justice systems. In this case this fugitive fled from justice and the crime victims were denied justice.
"The act of apprehending a fugitive is symbolic of an effective policing system. It reaffirms the trust the public has in the law enforcement system.
"It helps to keep our societies more secure as fugitives pose undeniable risks to the safety of citizens in the societies that they try to seek refuge, and therefore bringing them to justice has always been a priority for law enforcement and police worldwide," Leader of Government Commissioner Sarah Wescot-Williams told the Government Information Service (GIS).
