Harbour Group donates to Sister Marie Laurence School
The St. Maarten Harbour Group of Companies has donated US$10,000 to the Sister Marie Laurence School in Middle Region to help cover the costs of educational materials for the students.
Managing Director of the Harbour Group of Companies Mark Mingo says that the harbour group established a new community donation policy at the beginning of 2008, and the area of education was one of the priority areas.
Mingo added that the Harbour Group had received a letter from the Principal of the Sister Marie Laurence School with reference to the schoolâ??s need for a new reading system as the current one was no longer in use and needed to be replaced.
A similar donation request was also made by the school to the St. Maarten Timeshare Association (SMTA). Both organizations recently donated together US$20,000.
