St. Maarten chefs, bartenders cater to over 700 at Caribbean305 event

Over 700 hundred guests and Floridians received a taste of some of the best culinary delights by some of St. Maarten’s best chefs and bartenders at the Caribbean 305 culinary event On June 3. It was an event specifically for “Miami Foodies” and lovers of all things Caribbean.

All of the flavors of the Caribbean wee be on full display at Caribbean305 which took place at Jungle Island. South Floridians had the opportunity to savor all of the diverse gastronomic delights the Caribbean had to offer at one extraordinary culinary and cultural celebration.

The event was presented by the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA). Caribbean305 (formerly Taste of the Islands) is an annual event that highlights the art of Caribbean cooking as it brings together top chefs and bartenders from the region.

The St.  Maarten team prepared Cultural-Rama (saltfish and tostines) and a white dark chili coconut rocher, accompanied with some delicious Guavaberry Colada for over 700 guests. There were 15 different teams from different countries present at this event.

“As usual team St. Maarten represented perfectly and the feedback was excellent,” Head of Tourist Bureau Rolando Brison said. “We have world class chefs on St. Maarten and we are always proud to expose them to the world and let the world know why our island is the culinary capital of the Caribbean. Everyone back home should be very proud of this team,” Brison said.

Caribbean305 is part of the Taste of the Caribbean competition. The St. Maarten team is being supported by government through the St. Maarten Tourist Bureau and the St. Maarten Hospitality & Trade Association (SHTA).
