The Public Service Center/Ministry of General Affairs and the St. Maarten Chamber of Commerce & Industry partner to improve services to the business community

Effective November 23rd, 2015, businesses, entrepreneurs, NGOs and the like requiring Chamber-related services will now be able to do so at the Public Service Center in Simpson Bay through its newly launched service “GET COCI”.

President of the Board of the COCI, Peggy Ann Brandon explained that the “GET COCI” service is aimed to provide expedited services to our customers and secondly providing convenience to especially the business communities in the areas of Cole Bay, Simpson Bay, Cupecoy, Beacon Hill in view of upcoming busy season and given the challenges of parking and traffic congestion in the Philipsburg area”.

How does “GET COCI” work?

  1. Firstly, forms for the various registrations and online requests for all COCI related services must be downloaded by visiting http://www.chamberofcommerce.sx/. Some examples of requests are: Business name verification, first registrations, changes to registrations, declarations, excerpts, file copies etc.
  2. A payment confirmation must be submitted with the requested service order forms.
  3. (Payment must be done by means of a check or through bank to bank payments only).
  4. All requests must be dropped off between the 9.00 a.m. and 11.30 noon with proof of payment can be picked up the following day between 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. at the PSC.
  5. (For example: Monday morning drop off –Tuesday afternoon pick up).

All requests dropped off between 13:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. will be available 48 hours later for pick up between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. at the PSC.

(For example: Monday- afternoon drop-off Wednesday morning pick-up).

Completed requests processed ahead of time will be communicated (via email or phone).Director of the PSC, Emilia Thomas informed that the results of a “Customer satisfaction survey” conducted last year, concluded the need for her department to consider facilitating services provided by semi-government agencies; among which the St. Maarten Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Thomas concluded that integrated public service delivery to the business community and citizens in general is a welcomed improvement not only for Government but also for the country’s overall business environment. “We are extremely happy that we are able to partner with COCI to make this happen”.
