USM students performed puppet show at the library

Students of the Children’s Literature class of the University of St. Martin (USM) performed an entertaining puppet show in the Philipsburg Jubilee Library this week.
The USM students provide the puppet show each year as a fulfillment of their course assignments. The hosts on the day were Rita Carty and Leontine Joseph. The puppet show, which was completely free of charge, featured stories of Anansi and the Tug of War, the Little Red Hen and Rapunzel. The puppets and the performing students interacted with the children in the audience to make it a truly enjoyable show.
“Children, from babies to ten years of age, were enthralled by the shows….Hopefully, the students will take this experience with them into their classes when they are teaching.” USM educator Patti Maier stated after the performance took place.
