SEVEN SEAS WATERS ASSISTS SOCCER CAMP THROUGH DONATION

Seven Seas Waters St. Maarten, on Friday, made a donation of 1000 U.S. dollars to a 5-day soccer camp program, ending this weekend.

The MLS Club New York Red Bulls is hosting the camp in collaboration with local soccer associations RISC Takers and ACS St. Louis Stars.

The focus of the camp has been to develop youth soccer and offer each child an opportunity to enjoy this sport to his/her best ability, but also to start a partnership resulting in a talents exchange program.

In presenting the cheque to camp organizers, Seven Seas Waters managing director Franklyn Richards, praised the groups involved for “developing, supporting and increasing the playing ability of youth players within the St. Maarten / Saint Martin youth football structure”.

He remarked that the camp’s objectives were in keeping with the company’s ongoing community involvement, whereby assistance to youth development remains a priority.

As such, he said, Seven Seas Waters was delighted with another opportunity to raise the profile of football on the island as offered by this latest player development partnership.

Camp organizers have said that among other objectives of the soccer camp has been to provide coach education workshops to help improve and develop the education of youth soccer coaches; develop a scouting system where potential young players can be invited to one week training camps in the New York area and to provide an opportunity where the local association can utilize Red Bulls trainers at select times throughout the year.
