Chamber 2013 Elections

The St. Maarten Chamber of Commerce and Industry would like to inform the members that during the nomination period that ended on Thursday December 5th, 2013, thirteen (13) persons postulated for the three (3) vacancies on its Board of Directors. For the Large Business Sector, six (6) person postulated themselves, and seven (7) persons for the Small Business Sector. For the Large Business Sector, there are two (2) vacancies, and for the Small Business Sector, there is one (1) vacancy on its Board of Directors.

 

After screening of the nominations by the Election Committee, members, Messer: Franklin Brison, Cleophas Richardson, Myrna Lynch, and Charles Benders.

Ten (10) nomination forms were returned to the nominees, six (6) large and four(4) small for revision of shortcomings/defaults. The deadline for re-submission was Thursday December 5th, 2013 at 12:00 noon.

For the Large Business Sector, only one candidate submitted a completed nomination form. Consequently there will be no election for the Large Business Sector. For the Small Business Sector, the number of candidates exceeded the vacancies. Therefore, election will be held on December 13, 2013 from 8:30 am until 12 noon for the Small Business Sector only.

Voters are advised to pick up their voting cards at the Chamber of Commerce & Industry office from Monday, December 9, 2013.

These cards will be exchanged for a ballot on Election Day.
