Public invited to free health screening event in St. Peters on Saturday

The Ministry of Public Health, Social Development & Labour is working with different stakeholders to host an event on Saturday, November 2nd related to health, education, literacy and prevention.

 

The free screening event will take place at the St. Peter’s Community Center on Saturday with registration set for 9.00am until 11.00am. Screening starts at 9.30am and runs until 12.00pm.

The free screening will be for height, weight, blood pressure, and cholesterol as well as blood glucose.

Screenings will be done by physicians in training from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in collaboration with Dutch licensed physicians of Sint Maarten.

The screening also falls within the scope of the Minister of Public Health Hon. Cornelius de Weever’s ‘Get Checked’ campaign, which calls for a healthy nation, a healthy country, and that can only be achieved by early and effective screening.

The stakeholders involved and sponsoring the event are American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine, Diabetes Foundation of St. Maarten and the Ministry of Public Health, Social Development & Labour.
