On August 23, at the Marriott Biscaye Hotel in Miami, Florida, during the annual Special Ministerial Meeting of the Caribbean Financial Action Task Force (CFATF), where Sint Maarten was represented by Minister of Justice Hon. Dennis Richardson, the Directors of the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) of Sint Maarten Ligia Stella and FIU Barbados, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) making it possible for the exchange of intelligence information in connection with combatting money laundering and terrorism financing and other related international border crossing crimes.
