President Arrindell receives token of appreciation from Sister Borgia Primary School Sixth Graders

President of Parliament Hon. Gracita Arrindell on Friday received a visit from sixth grade students from Sister Borgia Primary School. The pupils were accompanied by their Teacher Laura.

The visit to the House of Parliament was in connection to presenting the President of Parliament with a token of appreciation for being one of their reading teachers during the past school year 2012-2013.

President Arrindell received an umbrella with the inscription from the parents teachers association of the Sister Borgia School; a commemorative plate with all of the sixth grade pupils and their teacher.

"I was very proud to note that the sixth grade of Sister Borgia did very well, while all the students who came to present the gift passed, and are continuing with their respective higher school of learning.

"My message to these young leaders of the future was, stay in school, study hard, respect your teachers and parents, and make Sint Maarten proud.

"I would like to congratulate all the students, teaching staff, management and parents of the Sister Borgia School for a job well done and a happy holidays," President of Parliament Hon. Gracita Arrindell said on Friday.

President Arrindell promised to continue reading for the new school year and asked for volunteers who command the Dutch language to spare 45 minutes of their time per week and become a reading volunteer at one of the nation’s primary schools.

"You can never regret this worthy investment in the future generations of young Sint Maarteners," Arrindell concluded.

Teacher Laura and the sixth grade pupils received a parliamentary pin from President Arrindell.
