Motorcade of first responders starts at 6.00pm on Friday

As part of its annual Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week, a motorcade of first responders (fire, police, EMS, Red Cross, Voluntary Korps Sint Maarten) will take place on Friday at 6.00pm.

 

The theme for EMS Week 2013 is "EMS One Mission, One Team."

According to Head of the Ambulance Department Cylred Richardson, the motorcade will start at the Fire and Ambulance Building in Cay Hill and then follow the route: Welgelegen Road; A.J.C. Brouwers Road; Cole Bay Hill; Welfare Road; Simpson Bay Bridge; Airport Road, Maho Round-a-bout; Airport Road; Simpson Bay Bridge; Welfare Road; Cole Bay Hill, Link 2; Welgelegen Road; and ending at the Fire & Ambulance Building in Cay Hill.

The last activity to close off EMS Week 2013 is a Celebration for staff and invited guests on Friday evening at the Ambulance Cay Hill Station. There will be a karaoke show and the recognition of two members of staff.

EMS is an emergency service dedicated to providing out-of-hospital acute medical care to patients with illnesses and injuries which prevent the patient from transporting themselves.
